About Me

Hi, I am currently working my way through the 120 hr online TEFL.  I am an Inclusion Support officer and Teaching Assistant working with children in primary and middle schools.  I love the fact that my job is so rewarding.
I would love to teach children in Africa, hence the reason for this course.  Although this learning is completely different to the way we teach English.
I love entertaining, walking , spending time with my family and going on great holidays!

I know my course is 120 hrs - however, there is no guidance on how long you should spend each day or how long each module or checkpoint should take. I am frustrated at the little information you are given when you start.  There is no package to download, no detailed information on the levels - beginner to advanced - where should I find this? How do I know what (in depth) they can or...

Passed Checkpoint 5 - first attempt!

Hi Juliet

Yes i passed my checkpoint answers like you said came straight back the next morning.  Yes would be nice for a bit more info but have to make the most of what we have thank god for the internet and google is all i can say. good luck and keep in touch sophie :)

Hi Sophie, Good luck ! I sent my answers in the evening and had a response first thing in morning - passed! The next quiz is the same.  Then comes your first Checkpoint, which is only 12 questions but more detail required. I'm still on Checkpoint 3 which is taking forever.  I have tried finding out how long you should spend on each checkpoint or module, but no answers and the help desk aren't very helpful either.  I wish there were manuals/detailed info on levels etc.  I don't think the summaries or resources online are sufficient.  DOH - too late now, must plod on. Anyway, I hope all goes well with you. Keep in touch. JULIET

Hi Julie

Gosh it sounds like it is going to get better for me then, if i can offer any advice i would gladly help but I am a newbie to all this myself, I am doing checkpoint 1 test today just on the last question of the test trying to work out what level the students are, happy days.  Will send my answers off soon how long do the tutors normally take to come back once you have submittd your answers?  I will admit is has taken me a while to get through it how long do they reckon you should spend on each module?

Hi Sophie

Well I have managed to battle my way through q.1-11. Although still unsure about my concept questions - I really don't get it. I'm now thinking of how to explain new words/phrases - although it doesn't tell you at what level the students are or do we do this in bullet form. Confusing.

Hope you get on well. If you can give me any advice, I'd be grateful. Cheers

hello there, i have just started my tefl just arrived at checkpoint 1 overthinking a few of the questions I think.  I see you are at checkpoint 3 how is it going for you?
