Hi, I am hoping to teach english in japan or south korea, but I'm not a british national. I would love to hear from anyone who is/was in a similar situation and found a way to still go there and teach.

Hey,

Welcome to Chalkboard. Great to see you're hoping to teach English in Japan or South Korea. What has attracted you to teaching there? Even though you are not a British national it is still possible to find work there, however you would need to have a Bachelors degree in order to obtain a visa.

To get you started on the site you may want to have a chat to these members who are currently teaching out there - they will be able to give you some help and advice about finding work:

Japan- http://www.tefl-chalkboard.com/pdixon/
South Korea- http://www.tefl-chalkboard.com/duggand and http://www.tefl-chalkboard.com/lintse07

Enjoy the site and feel free to ask me any questions you have :-)
