Hey,
Welcome to Chalkboard. Great to see you're hoping to teach English in Japan or South Korea. What has attracted you to teaching there? Even though you are not a British national it is still possible to find work there, however you would need to have a Bachelors degree in order to obtain a visa.
To get you started on the site you may want to have a chat to these members who are currently teaching out there - they will be able to give you some help and advice about finding work:
Japan- http://www.tefl-chalkboard.com/pdixon/
South Korea- http://www.tefl-chalkboard.com/duggand and http://www.tefl-chalkboard.com/lintse07
Enjoy the site and feel free to ask me any questions you have :-)
