I'm a Finnish girl residing in Luxembourg contemplating a short stay in UK before moving to South East Asia. Confused much? I bet nowhere near as confused as I am. And that is my life story in a nutshell.
I'm hoping to brush up on my English idioms and grammar while I gather enough money for the big leap of faith, then complete a TEFL course in Bangkok and finally land a teaching job in Thailand, Cambodia, Laos or Vietnam, And stick around the area for a couple of years. Some sun is in order after sitting in a cubicle, pelted with rain in Luxembourg. Later I could either stay in Asia or move to another continent. I try not to plan too much. Carpe diem.
Before it occured to me that I could make a reasonably fine job in teaching I was pretty much doing what I was expected to do, and continued doing so as I thought it was the only possible way to live. So I continued sitting in my cubicle from 9 to 7 every day. Then I started traveling. And country by country I became more convinced that I should follow my heart instead of running after money with other rats in the race. So I'm quitting banking. Good riddance!
I realise the facts and know that landing said job won't be as easy for me as it would be for a native English speaker. Still I believe that with a right attitude and my experience in learning languages (I've studied 4 foreign languages) my chances are at least reasonable.
If anyone has friendly advice to share, I'd be forever grateful. If someone needs to bring a random person down, please go and bother someone else. Things could go wrong, but on the other hand, they could go right.

Heyeyyyyy!! Loved the BIO! I totally stand by you and love your courage to f**k the system. Please excuse the language. But I totally agree. That is why I am doing this as well. It will be the best thing you ever did I am sure and the biggest challenge, probably, as well. But those ones are the most reqarding in the end aren't they? I commend you for doing this even though English isn't your first language it appears as though it is. Wonderful. :)
