Thank you so much for your assistance. The EPIK program sounds ideal. I will look into it.
I hope you have settled into your new environment and are enjoying the experience.
Take care,
John
Hi John
Sorry for the delay, I asked around on the Teachers in Ulsan page in FB about what you said about teaching jobs for 25+, here's a basic summary of their responses:
1) Try the EPIK program, it's easier to get a job through them.
2) If you have a good masters/experience you'd have better luck at getting a job in a uni or college
3) There are lots of opportunities in Seoul. Here's what one guy said:
"I think there's plenty of jobs for a mature guy with lots of experience in business. Especially in Seoul. These days, companies are looking for more than just English courses but courses that focuses on business issues, marketing, motivation, leadership and global events, which, with a lot of knowledge, experience and opinions can generate very good results. In Seoul, companies are all over looking for such talent. However, the pay is the same as an average teacher because the jobs are through agencies. If the same person did the same job overseas, they would be classified as either a lecturer or a special speaker. But if he's in Korea for the experience, then the pay is not the aim here. There are 15 available position that a recruiter has told me that are available in Seoul right now for the above criteria. I think a mature man standing in a classroom talking to executives about economic and political as well a cultural issues would bear more weight than a young guy bragging about what he knows and thinks"
Hope this helps!!
