Yes in China most children and many adults use english names and it is very normal there.

Trust me as teaching in China their real names are very difficult for western teachers, so for me it is wonderful that they do use western names. but keep in mind not all students will use western names and it is respectful to use the names that they use. They do not only use the  western names in school but after school as well. So it is respectful and respect is always a great start with new students and this will not matter in any country that you may teach in
