Hi
I'm needing to 'spruce up' my resume and it's looking more and more likely that I will need some sort of degree to find half-decent work in Japan.
Does anybody have any advice on a good TEFL/TESOL or teaching related degree (Bachelors probably) I can do on line and in a year??
Regards,
Jim

Hi Jim!
That's great you're looking to teach in Japan! How long are you hoping to teach there for? A degree is required to obtain a work visa, but this can be in any discipline. Most employers want to see that you've done around 100 hours worth of TEFL training. Not sure if you've looked at i-to-i's TEFL courses, but you can do the training online and it's done within a 3 month period, so this might be something to look at. You can get more information here - http://www.onlinetefl.com/tefl-course
You may want to speak to Paul, who has been teaching in Japan for the last couple of years. He's got loads of blogs about his experiences and I'm sure would have some advice for you! - http://www.onlinetefl.com/tefl-chalkboard/pdixon
Hope this helps you.
