Hello,
I am currently a student at San Francisco State University. I will be graduating in the fall and hope to intern in China with i-to-i in spring 2011. My curiosity about teaching abroad stems from my love of travel and my inability to decide what I am going to do with my life after graduation. I worked as a nanny in Vietnam a few years ago and I've always wanted to go back to explore the rest of Asia.
I would love to get some information about the program from current or previous participants. It would also be nice to meet some people like me who are hoping to participate next year.
Thanks!
Jessica

Are you looking to work in China?
Do you want to work with Kindergarten children?
Do you want a good Salary?
Do you want weekends off and two ½ days?
If you do, please contact me today. Our kindergarten needs teachers for the new semester starting September. We also have vacancies in our training centers. We are based in GuangZhou, Dongguan, and Foshan all in Guangdong Province, China.
Our school is called CIEO (Canadian International Education Organization)
If you want more details then please get in touch, If you know someone who might be interested then please forward this to them.
If you can’t start September don’t worry, you can still apply as we need teachers throughout the year!
All the best,
Robert
Well after several years in China, and a year of working there, I'm getting kinda China tired, so I'm moving to Singapore in July to work in broadcasting/media, and if I do well there, I'll hopefully be able to move to London in a year or two. Fingers crossed, but if it doesn't pan out, I'll fall back on teaching English and head for either southeast Asia, eastern Europe, or South America. Whatever way I go, I graduate this May, and I'm pretty excited about just traveling for the next few years! Who needs a career when they're 20??
Wow, a nanny in Vietnam? how did you find that job and how did you like it?
As far as Cantonese speaking regions go, anywhere in the south, mainly Guangdong and Guangxi provinces. Your best best bet is to go to Hong Kong, though. Everything there (for example, announcements on the metro) is in Cantonese first, then Mandarin, then English. Sometimes they even cut out the Mandarin and just speak in Cantonese and English. Plus, Hong Kong is an AMAZING city- it's one of my top two favorites in the world!!
Whoops, just realised I forgot to give you a link to Lou's profile - here you go: http://www.tefl-chalkboard.com/loulu6
