Hey Chris! I'm living in Ballarat, or the "rat" haha, and before that lived in Geelong for a couple of years. Went well with the application,was a rush to get it all done in 7days though, had to get a new passport, and to get that a new birth certificate..phew! im still waiting to hear back from them to hear that they received my application, its almost 2 weeks now, haha so I'm trying to take your advice and be patient :)

hows ur online course coming along? hey i was thinking, if we both get in to the internship, did u want to try and get on the same flight to China? I havent been overseas without my parents before so I'd love to have someone else to get the flight with, and to talk 2 when we first arrive. Thats a while away yet though, just a thought :) goodluck with the course! x

Hello Jessica, great to see another local girl from OZ joining the internship thats fantastic! I live in North Melbourne so I'm basically a city boy but have been living and working in Gippsland (Inverloch) for the past 8 mnths....great beaches and surf!! Where abouts do you live? How did you go with your application, there was a little bit to organise hopefully it went well. Be a little patient with the response, I received an e-mail about 2 weeks later confirming they've received my application and an organiser will be in touch within 4 weeks and am waiting for them to make contact. So in the interim i'm just focusing on completing my TEFL and getting excited about the prospects.

A girl named Gaby from Cornwall in the U.K has also joined the internship and has set up a facebook page called 'China Internship August 2011' so join up if you wish, I think it'll be a great support base for us all as things progress. Also thank you so much for your encouraging words and wishes it's greatly appreciated....sounds like we have a little in common. I just signed up to the internship last week, sent my stuff away yesterday. The character reference is just basically a tick box thing, with a space for any comments. Then just the details of the person who is writing the reference for you.

I have less than 7days to get one together and still waiting for my passport to come through, eek!! :s so can't access the character reference part of the application yet..would be great if anyone can let me know!
