Alright everybody, as we speak I am sitting at the Seattle-Tacoma airport waiting for the next leg of my journey to begin. In 2 hours I'll be on my way to Beijing! I don't really know what to say at this point. It's a very strange feeling to know that in about 12 hours my life is going to be so drastically different. On my flight out here from Detroit, I started reading a book called Lost On Planet China. (Thanks Rheanne!) I'm about 40 pages into it and I've laughed outloud several times, but I've also almost cried and it's definitely helped make me a little bit nervous about being in Beijing. Luckily I have experienced the unbelievable traffic in Bangkok, so I am somewhat prepared.
I'm actually feeling rather calm at the moment, and so I think that's a good note to end this rather short blog on. Off to buy some Renmibi, and then a beer! Cheers!

I'm at the Sanlitun Hostel. I was supposed to be at Happy Dragon, but they rerouted me here to their 'sister' hostel. It's really quite nice, actually! Yesterday was my first full day in Beijing, I didn't really do much. Today I plan to go out to see the city, hopefully this rain will stop! (Although, maybe it'll cut down on crowds!) :-) Where are you?
I flew to PEK from SEA on August 18th! Where are you staying in Beijing these few days before the internship starts?
