Hi jendonesia

Beyond luck there is hope. Our Lord is the God of hope and He can give favor if your desire is to help Indonesian people a way can open up for you to teach and we are both older than you!. Jenny & I have such a love for the Indonesian people. "Saya cinta Indonesia"  - I have seen Indonesian officials break into a smile as I have related to them.

Hiya jedonesia,

Although you really would like to teach in Indonesia why not try contacting your council to see if there is any minority groups in your area who would benifit from some english lessons? If that fails get some small leaflets posted up in the languages of minorites in your town. Here in montrose we have lots of eastern europeans that have a very poor grasp on the english language. While i don't make a fortune in private lessons it's giving me experience and a bit of money to put aside to get to the place i want to teach. Why not try an extended holiday (if it's possible) voluntering in indonesia that might open up a few door's for you.

I hope this helps. And it's never to late to chase your dreams, sometimes we just have to reached further for them. Don't give up. x

Well i've given up hope of ever teaching in Indonesia or any where else for that matter, you see i-to -i don't tell you of the age restrictions before they take your money,oh they try to tell you some stories about getting work but deep down they know these conutries only want young people really and once you have reached 50 or so they know there is not really any hope of you getting work. They will tell you all sorts of things to get your money and they build your hopes up but they don't care about how hard you crash when your dreams are smashed.

Cool - best of luck with it!

i will tell you latter

Hey Jenny,

Welcome to Chalkboard! That's great you're thinking of Indonesia - what exactly is it that makes you want to teach in Malang?

To get you started on the site you might want to chat to these guys who are teaching/have taught in Indonesia to get an idea of what it's like out there:
