First TEFL job interview!

Hi All, So after sending out my newly-revamped CV to a number of language schools in Italy and Spain, I've just been invited to have my first ever interview by phone with the Director of Studies of a school based in Naples! Due to the time difference between Italy and Australia, it was a little tricky organising a mutually-agreeable time, but 7pm tomorrow night has been settled on and I'm now in the throes of prepping...

Teaching in Italy or Spain

Hi All, Well after doing my 120-hour TEFL course last April, I finally quit my "day job" in December to pursue the career break I've been talking about for so long! I've had to abandon my original idea of teaching English in Africa, as there don't seem to be any paid jobs there and sadly I can't afford to just volunteer, I need a salaried posting. Jobs for TEFL-ers with no experience

So, full of excitement at completing my 120-hour TEFL course, I've spent the last few evenings surfing the net researching possible jobs. The first thing I'm noticing is that even with a TEFL certificate and a degree, a lot of posts are asking for 2 or 3 years teaching experience, which at present I don't have. I've been looking largely on tefl.com and eslcafe.com, which on the face of it have a large number of jobs...

The Wonderful World of TEFL

So here I am, having just completed the 120-hour Online TEFL Course - that's the most study I've done since graduating from uni 15 years ago! And now it feels like the whole world is out there waiting for me... I just don't know where to start! Seeing all the dialogues to-ing and fro-ing here on Chalkboard, I realise I've tapped into something very exciting and special and I want a piece of it. I'm...
