Hey! Right, I guess this counts as a kind of journal post to lay down as a benchmark...
I've completed the online course, taken part in a intensive weekend workshop and gathered a stack of specialist certificate qualifications. Technically I could just go and teach English as a foreign language. So, hey, why not?
Because of medical treatment I can't head away for the next few months but I've made up my mind having got the qualifications and finished my postgraduate degree that I've got to get away this year. I must. No compromise. That is my goal and I've got to make it happen.
So then, I've got my heart set on travelling to teach English overseas and Italy is my ideal destination. For anyone who's interested and for my own motivation, I'll be tracking my progress and planning as I look to try and arrange my adventure for 2010. Here goes...
It's always great to hear what people think and get advie so any thoughts are welcome. Plus, if anyone who went to the i-to-i weekend course in Manchester (UK) in September is passing by, get in touch!
Alright. Let's make this happen...

Good Luck! Keep us posted
I think the journal entries are great! I wish there were more on here from TEFL qualifiers to give me some more advice! I don't know where to start. Very cool to find somebody else who has Italy as their ideal location. Let me know of any finds. I seem to keep running into job advertisements that are requiring teachers IMMEDIATELY or AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, of course I'm not available until April.
I also thought there would be more of a parade after I finished all the Online stuff....turns out, no fireworks or banners were displayed on the website as I expected.
