I woke early this morning and had this in my head so I thought I'd write it down and share it with you all. Apologies to the person who wrote "T'was the night before Christmas" for stealing his rhythm and probably butchering it!
* * * * * * *
T'was the night before take-off
and all round the house
was a bustling and scurrying
like a hyperactive mouse.
The wardrobe was open
and so were the drawers
clothing and toiletries
littered the floors.
The thrill of deciding
what things should be packed,
just tickets, cash, passport
if we're being exact!
Will I cope alone
on those very long flights?
Eager anticipation
of new people, fab sights.
Loved ones imploring
'have a great time'.
'Don't worry about anything,
all will be fine'.
So I'll treasure each minute,
take magic moments real slow.
And tomorrow I'll wake up;
grab my rucksack ... And go!

Yes Jane, you sure are a go getter...hang on, wait....we are all coming too
Jane, I am 40 and just investigating this adventure. I am so excited to see other women my age taking on this challenge!! Best wishes and I hope to be a part of this grand adventure very soon. Any words of wisdom would be appreciated!
Awesome Jane!!! Good luck in all your travels! I have to admit that your routine before flight and the anticipation sounds like what I go and will go through again! Have fun!
Jane, this is awesome! I've kind of been out of touch as I concentrated on finishing all my certificates, which I finally completed July 1. Last I remember you weren't going to China after all (?) Where are you headed to?
Jane, you are an absolute classic!!!
go girl and have the time of your life.....
Fabulous!!!! And so correct about what it feels like. Except I didn't sleep any before my long flight. Stayed up all night packing last minute. LOL At least you are more prepared. :))
Good luck!!
