I'm a university student and currently studying in Jakarta, Indonesia. I'm interested in doing TEFL course since I like to travel and see different parts of the world. I haven't taken any courses yet but I'm hoping to do so in the near future.

It is possible and as a local teacher you wouldn't need the TEFL but it is good for giving you a background/insight into teaching methods. Try visiting any English schools where you live and ask if they need teachers, maybe even just part-time to start with would give you valuable experience! I know EF do employ locals with/without degree/TEFL so don't worry just start applying!
Hi,
Thanks for the questions. You wouldn't need a TEFL to teach as a local in a private language school such as EF or eNopi but it would certainly help your chances of application. If you have a Bachelors degree or are studying at the moment then that would be enough to get a position as a teacher.
I am currently working at EF in Gading Serpong, Tangerang.
If you have any other questions then feel free to post me them and I will get back to you ASAP!
