Get over 100 hours of TEFL training, 300 hours of teaching experience, 62,500 baht… and the experience of a lifetime in Thailand!
i-to-i’s brand new Teach in Thailand Internship offers the perfect mix of travel, teaching experience and TEFL training – ideal for those who want to experience Thailand’s incredible culture, but have never taught English abroad before.
On the internship program, aspiring TEFL teachers receive state-of-the-art TEFL training on an i-to-i TEFL course, before spending four amazing months getting TEFL experience (and a generous monthly living allowance!) in the Land of Smiles. They’re given 24-hour support from the moment they touch down in Bangkok in May, starting with free airport pick-up and a fantastic five-day orientation, which includes an introduction to Thai language, customs and culture, as well as a free city tour.
After that, interns are whisked off to their placement, working at a reputable school with free, pre-arranged accommodation in a Thai-style apartment. Once there, a friendly school liaison will help them get settled in, before showing them around their school and the local area – so there’s no chance of getting lost!
Simon Lemon said: “Your in-country contacts Masako, Tong and Tang were incredibly welcoming and helpful. I was bowled over with my first night in Asia – I guess it was culture shock! Your team helped me have a smoother introduction to an unfamiliar country.
“I was picked up from the airport, treated to a top-notch Thai meal, taken to meet fellow teachers and went on a night out in Bangkok. Your team went out of their way to help settle me in; I felt incredibly welcome.”
Interns receive a generous living allowance of 12,500 baht per month, then get a 12,500 baht bonus at the end of their internship, so will have plenty of cash to make the most of their spare time in Thailand, with its gorgeous beaches, energetic cities and lush countryside. Plus, unlike most travellers, interns will really get to experience this vibrant country’s culture as they live and work alongside local people.
There’s no need to have any previous teaching/TEFL experience or the ability to speak Thai to take part either. This fantastic opportunity is open to any fluent English-speaking graduate from the UK, US, Canada, New Zealand or Australia. It costs £1,095 ($1,495), which includes either a comprehensive 140 hour or 120 hour TEFL course (depending on the interns’ home-country).
Those who want to take part will need to hurry though – there are only 50 intern spaces available and all applications MUST be received by 23rd April, less than three weeks away! Hey,
1) No, the 62,000 baht is your take home living allowance, which has already had income tax deducted from it. You'll get 12,500 baht net, take home living allowance every month.
2) As you're in the US you would have the 120 hour online course included. However, as you've already enrolled in the 120 hour classroom course, you won't need to do any extra TEFL training - your current course will be enough, and you'll just pay a $985.50 upgrade fee to take part in the Thailand Internship.
Hope that helps - if you have any more questions give us a call on 800 352 1793.
I have two questions:
1) Will there be deductions and/or taxes for the 62,500 baht for 300 hours of teaching experience?
2) Who should take the 140 hours TEFL training and 120 hours?
