Hi everyone!
We're thinking of trying something new on Chalkboard to better support you guys through the TEFL course and beyond into the big wide world...but we obviously want to get it right!
Now, stick with us on this and feel free to humour us... but we need a range of opinions from all over the world on this one before anything is put in place.
If we were to show you this picture...

...Would you instantly know that it was a mountain rescue St. Bernard dog coming to help you if you were to injure yourself in a ski related incident?
Now you see why we asked you to stick with us?!
Does everyone know about these dogs around the globe and that they are associated with rescue? If not then we won't pursue it, but we appreciate your input whatever your opinion is!
Intrigued? We hope so!

Super Cute AND Helpful! I immediately associate this cutie with rescue so I think it's perfecto!
OOOh please will you get this up and running before I get to Checkpoint 5 as I have a feeling I am going to need a helping paw :) Great idea by the way as I have seen many posts asking for help and asking how they can contact a tutor apart from emailing, this would be more instant I presume?
Thanks Nikki! What we're thinking is having a 'rescue dog' persona/user account on the Chalkboard site (much like i-to-i have their own user account) which will be manned by either someone from the TEFL helpdesk, or with one of our tutor's input, and it's there for anyone who is totally stuck and needs TEFL rescuing. They can 'ask for the dog' to rescue them and give them direction?
We want to add some humour to the situation as it is annoying to feel like you're at a dead end with the course, but to request the dog's help (a.k.a. a TEFL expert) might help people out a little more and give them somewhere to go with their TEFL issues, and put a smile on their face at the same time! We like to be a little bit quirky where we can!
Thanks so much for your input!
Katie
I can't ask any students, but when I saw the pic I instantly thought SOS, as yep I know all about these gorgeous creatures. Not sure if kids in Bulgaria would as they don't even like dogs all that much :(
