Poland isn’t just about its cabbage stew and countless castles – oh no! There are loads of cosmopolitan cities and amazing countryside, so if you’re looking for a place to start your TEFL adventure, Poland could be perfect!
i-to-i has teamed up with the Speed School of English, to offer the Teach in Poland Internship giving you five months of fantastic teaching in Southern Poland, filled with loads of support and all the training.
Are you tempted yet? Well here are seven reasons why you should join the Poland Internship:
1- Support, support, support!
The beauty of an internship is everything is organised for you, unlike finding your own TEFL job. Once you touch down in Poland everything is already set up for you, so you don’t have to worry about a thing. You will also have 24/7 support from our reputable partners, Speed School of English.
2- History
Poland is a country which has lots of history and there is probably lots you didn’t know about its history. For example did you know the Wieliczka Salt Mine is believed to be the 14th-oldest company in the world which is still in operation. As part of the internship you will get the chance see the historic city of Krakow and Aushwitz
3- Time to hit the slopes
One of the many benefits of the internship is that you get a 3 day skiing pass – what better way is there to spend your free time than hitting the slopes and enjoying the beautiful scenery that Poland has to offer?!

4- Night life
It might be an old historic city, but it’s actually a really youthful city with a really good night life. Krakow is one of the hotspots in Europe for a night out, with a wide range of pubs, bars and clubs you will always be able to find something that takes your fancy!

5- New friends, new experience, new you!
The experience is most likely going to be something completely new to you so what better way to make some new friends! Throughout the duration of the internship you will be surrounded by other interns and live with other teachers giving you the chance to make some friends for life! Not to mention all the locals who’ll be keen to welcome you to Poland (and practise their English!)
6- Generous spending allowance
As your accommodation is taken care of for you, so all of your monthly living allowance can be spent on you! You'll receive a monthly allowance of 1500 Polish Zlotys (PLN) per month, and receive a 1000 PLN bonus from your school at the end of your internship. The cost of living in Poland is a lot lower than in other Western countries: a pint of beer, for example, costs as little as 4PLN which is about 87p!
7- Beef up your CV/Resume
Let’s face it, an experience like this is going to make your CV stand out from the crowd and give you valuable skills, even if you don’t want to make a career out of teaching. You will develop great presentation and communication skills, cope with challenging situations, build your interpersonal skills and boost your confidence. All great skills, no matter what your future has in store!

Sounds like what I'm looking for. I am going to be in Norway come March 11 and will be completing my 140hr TEFL course. I was looking to get setup somewhere in Eastern Europe so this will be a great foot in the door, so to speak. Will look into it more.
yes, i had set my heart on poland. so i really hope that i will be able to find something there. really hope there will be some help. =(((
Hi,
Apologies - the partners we work with only take people who are non-native speakers.
You can always try and find work independently in Poland though - is that the destination you've got your heart set on?
Do you have any internship programs in poland which doesn't just require native english speakers? =(
i'm not qualified for the current one. =(
