Why Teach English in South Korea?

To celebrate the launch of these exciting new opportunities through the EPIK Program, here are some fantastic reasons to get TEFL certified and get to Korea in March 2011!

1. Brilliant Working Environment

With the EPIK Program you’ll only be placed in public schools, not in private Hagwons. So that means no weekend working, no pushy parents wanting to make sure they’re getting their money’s worth and no pressure to keep students sweet. Placements are usually very well organized, so all you have to worry about is giving the best classes possible.

2. Great Salary

You’ll be a millionaire! (In South Korean Won that is…) You’ll earn a minimum of 1.8million KRW per month, tax free – that’s around £1,000/$1,500 per month all to keep for yourself!

Probably won't need one of these..

3. Free, furnished studio apartment

On top of getting a great salary you’ll also be living rent free for the year you spend in South Korea in a cosy, fully furnished studio apartment.

4. A totally different experience

Life in South Korea is like nothing you’ve ever seen before, with an ancient, fascinating culture rubbing shoulders with hi-tech living (did you know South Korea has the world’s most developed broadband networks?). Living there is a challenging, invigorating experience of a lifetime.

5. Money towards flights

There’s not even any need to save up cash for flights – you’ll get around £700 ($1,000) to pay for your return flights out there, meaning you’ll have more cash to enjoy yourself with once you get to Korea!

6. Amazing contrasts – beautiful countryside & gleaming cities

As well as towering skyscrapers and lively markets in South Korea’s infectiously energetic cities, much of the surrounding countryside remains unspoilt and picturesque – perfect for exploring at the weekend.

7. Help with your classes

One of the bonuses of the EPIK Program is that you get a local teacher to help you with your classes and give you feedback – perfect if the little blighters are misbehaving, or you need help getting your message across.
