I just wanted to ask a question. I have 2 days left on my course.2 days ago I submitted my last 2 assignments (One to One and Teaching Young Learners). What I would like to know is what if I dont get the assignments back before my course runs out? What happens then? Considering I got the coursework done its only a matter of waiting for a tutor to send it back. Also, while Im at it i have 1 more question. Are the certificates we click on in the module th eonly ones we get or are there proper printed ones sent by post?
Thank you for all your help.
Cathal.
Hi! I've read the previous messages about the change of date for the end of the China teaching internship...I never received any emails from i to i regarding any changes...anyways, i wanted to ask if it's OK to leave a week early (January 9 to be precise) as I have to go back to school. And what's the chance of one of us not getting a visa invitation? I'm really worried about the ticket prices as it keeps going up. I'm thinking of buying one before I get the invitation but I also don't want to waste my money if I don't get it. Help!
Hi
I am off to China on the 23rd of August and I have a few questions if you could help me please.
I was initally told that my teaching would finish on the 15th of Jan 2011 so i have booked my flights giving myself 1 week from the 15th to get back to Beijing. I then received some correspondence stating that even though they say the 15th we may be required to stay on for another 2 weeks depending on the schools term times. If i am asked to stay on after the 22nd of Jan and cant (as i have to get my flight) what position will this put me in?
Also once the teaching is finished and we arrive back in Beijing is there some kind of ceremony where we meet up with everyone we met when we first arrived in Beijing and then get our end certificates? I'm not sure where i heard this but would like to know if this is the case what date would this be?
Thanks
Amanda
Hi! :)
Thanks for the welcome! I'm thinking about South Korea, but to be honest I don't really know enough about the whole process yet......I'm just trawling the boards and getting tips/info from other users.
And just waiting for my ILA funding so I can get a tasty £200 towards my TEFL course - Scotland may suck at sports, but as far as giving me free cash money to spend on courses goes.....I can't complain! :)
Hey!
Teaching is a blast, thanks for asking - teaching such a wide range (from 2 - 60!) - so it keeps every class interesting and different.
I am in Gunma, Kanto region Japan - about 1 hour train from Tokyo - which is very handy for the weekends.
Peace.
Hiya! :)
Honor told me that the deadline for the TEFL Teacher video competition is 9th June, but that it may be getting extended due to lack of entries. Could you let me know if it does please? I'd love to enter, but am not going to be teaching in China til about the 15th June.
Thanks!
heya i-to-i :) i was hoping Saudi or the Emirates to start with, for roughly 3 years, then get a move on from there, travel the world teaching! I'm taking your 140 hour TEFL package that was just offered, though i can't get started till exams at uni are over on june 25th - does that matter? I read there was a 3 month deadline to complete the course. And i'd also like to switch round the Module of teaching kids (as much as i'd love to do that) to teaching business language. Anxious to begin, but uncertain how far the qualifications will get me, is the only problem in the course because there's no teaching component? (was thinking i'd volunteer while still in Australia at an English Language Institute/School)
Any advice?
Tanks xD
Hi! Thanks for stopping by. :o) I have my intention set on two years from now to be in France. Central (most preferred) or south. I am looking for extra work to get the funds to pay for the certification as soon as I can. I am still a little confused about the difference between TEFL training and TESOL training, if there is any difference. I know I saw an article on that around here somewhere.
Hi,
I was thinking about Thailand but I haven't really thought about it too much yet. I'm still recovering from my jetlag from flying home from Australia! Any advice you could give me on teaching in Thailand would be greatly appreciated though. :)
Hey
I havent really looked much into it. I love travelling and ineracting with people so i thought why not give back and teach AND travel at the same time. Love learning new languages. I was learning jaanese. But i dont have a degree sadly.
