Ahoy!
I would just like to ask a quick question as to how do I list my TEFL certificates on my resume?
Specifically what would be considered the Institution and what the major subjects?
I have listed i-to-i as the institution and English the major subject, I'd just like to know if this is the right way to listing this?

You can see how I did it on my CV - its online:

the part for TEFL just said this:
..........................
Teaching English as Foreign Language (TEFL) Certificate
January 2010
i-to-i Woodside House, 261 Low Lane Leeds, LS18 5NY United Kingdom (www.i-to-i.com/tefl )
105 total hours; Modules: 60 hrs general TEFL, 20 hrs specialist Grammar, 5 hrs teaching children, 5 hrs business English, 5 hours private classes, 5 hrs large classes, 5 hrs limited resources.
...................................................
I'm starting my 2nd year teaching in China
But I think everyone should use their own "style" on their CV - to show your own personality

I listed mine in a similar way. Thanks for the advice. :)
If I find any more information on how to list it, I will let you know.
Good luck with your TEFL, I also worked with deadline but life happened. Hopefully you will reach your goal date and find work quickly :)
peace and happiness.
I've wondered about this also. I haven't yet finished my TEFL course though yet but I aim to be October 24th (I've got a strict goal deadline set for myself.)
I would put something like "i-to- Internationally Recognised 140hr TEFL Qualification" (Obviously change the 140hr part if you did a different number of hours, but I think the number of hours kinda big's it up a little. )
Then maybe you could list the different parts of the course, so for example; I'm doing the 140 hour course. I would put:
60 hours TEFL course
20 hours Grammar Awareness
20 hours weekend TEFL course
10 hours specialist TEFL training for one to one
10 hours specialist TEFL training for business english
etc etc etc
Listing the specialist certificates on the TEFL course would imply that you're specialised in that area which may benefit you in getting a job.
Also you could write a paragraph indicating what you did on the course and things you covered to give a brief summary of the knowledge you gained on the course.
Hope that helps! I guess if someone mor eexperience than me has better things to say then go for what they say! I'll keep an eye on this post to get some tips also! :)
