Hello :) my name is Jen and I live in Exeter. I currently work at a law firm in the Accounts department. I have been doing my level 2 AAT qualification so that I can eventually become an accountant, but have decided to take a break and do something a bit more exciting!! I went to Uni in Gloucestershire to do Sport Science and it was the best 3 years of my life. I love sport and anything outdoors. I have been a lifeguard since I was 16 and often teach swimming lessons.
Eventually I want a family, nice job and generally comfortable life, but for now.... I want some FUN!!

Hope you're looking forward to the internship. In terms of packing suggestions, make sure you take 'respectable' clothes for teaching - things like black trousers, short-sleeved shirts, skirts and tunics & leggings - teachers are really respected in Thailand so you don't want to be letting the side down by looking scruffy!
Apart from that, pictures of your family and home town on a memory stick are good for lessons and if you have one you might find your laptop useful. Make-up and moisturiser is worth taking with you as a lot of products in Asia have bleaching agents in them.
For other tips take a look at this article: http://www.onlinetefl.com/tefl-chalkboard/honor/posts/1391-dont-forget-the-chocolate-7-essentials-to-pack-for-your-tefl-adventure
Hope that all helps - have the best time in Thailand and keep us all updated with how you get on :)
Hi hun,
Its nice to meet you! Looking forward to the internship? I can't wait to go but it feels like the TEFL course is taking forever to complete - I cant wait till I finally finish my notice in work and then I can start getting myself ready to go. Not that I have a clue what the hell Ill need to take with me! How are you doing with the course?
Hope you're well,
Anna x

Is going on the Thailand Internship in October 2010....just sorting out my injections ahhhh!!
Hey, how's it going? No I haven't booked my flight yet - pobably going to go around the 23rd of October. Have you sorted out your flight? There was talk on here of sorting out flights together but it seems a bit hard to organise. And no, I've never TEFL before that's why I went with the internship for some degree of support. I see you only started your TEFL course a couple of months before me so we're in the same boat really.
Hey,
Welcome to Chalkboard and congratulations on starting your TEFL training. If you're thinking of heading to Thailand you might want to chat to these guys who are teaching there at the minute:

Also, have you checked out the Thailand internship at all? Might be a good option if it's your first time teaching abroad, as you get loads of support: http://www.onlinetefl.com/teaching-internships/thailand-qualified/
Good luck with all your plans and if you have any questions get in touch :)
Hi :) I have just started my TEFL training with the aim to head off somewhere (hopefully Thailand) by the end of the year. Yay!!
