using trailers

  This summer we have started using projectors in the classroom. It's cool,i mean it is a good way to include interesting and fun materials into your lesson. Recently, in one of my intermediate classes,i used the trailer of the movie called "Charlie St.Cloud".I found one with the subtitles to make sure everyone understands it. First ,I introduced the vocabulary and then let them watch it .For the second time, i paused it and asked them questions about the scenes. Since it is a trailer,all of the students are equal.In other words it is not like some of them have seen it before and others havent.It was new for everyone and for me too.Anyway, we talked about the scenes and at the end i asked them to guess the ending.That was the most interesting and creative part of the activity cause they all had different ideas:) some said the movie had a happy ending while some thought it had a sad ending.It was really fun.The movie will be in theaters in late September so my students are all looking forward to watching it:)My students are 18 and usually older but just like kids sometimes they like to do things different than the book.If u guys are interested here is the website.
