Hey Hadley. I have had a great time in Korea so far! I've been here for just over a year. I decided that I didn't want to go to Seoul, so am in a slightly smaller city called Daejeon (it is by no means small though, with about 1.2 million people in it!!). I got here with a recruiter that worked nearly exclusively in the small city I was based before (600 thousand people!). I filled in the application, got all my documents ready and applied. I got a job pretty quickly, and was working with adults last year. It was a nice job, if a little bad towards the end when we got a new director who just wasn't very organised. I now work in a great kindergarten. I got to go now, as I'm still teaching! I'll try and write more later. Just write on my wall if you have any specific questions.
Haha so you will adapt no problem. You will know plenty about asian culture before even getting there.
Thanks for the link. I've actually watched her videos before. They were the first videos I came across. I always resort to google if I need a tutorial :P
Love the tunes!
Hi :)
Sounds good. I must take a look at that site. It would be good even to know the basics bt I would prefer to be able to read Korean too.
What are you studyin at the minute? are you an undergrad? I graduated in September and went on to do graduate study so I won't be graduating from this course until December next year.
Wow Chicago! Cool! You would defo fit in with the city life then. Seoul is also my area of interest but if I go through the EPIK route I get placed wherever really. I'm more of a country gal so the city life will take some adjusting too :p
Thanks for the links. I will give them a listen when I'm doing some of the course. Super Junior are good and I like Infinite, they have nice songs, esp 'Paradise'. I'm so used to boy bands with 3-4 members so its suprising to see 13 or 14 members.
Do you watch Kdramas and movies? They are very good! There is a lot of very gd asian movies.
If you do end up going in Aug and I go over in Feb we should keep intouch and meet at some stage over there. It's always good to know someone.
Take care.
Hiya I was browsing through your page and noticed that you are planning to go to SK in August 2013. I'm planning on going in Feb 2013 myself. Do you have any idea where you wana go and if your going to apply through EPIK?
I wish I could take a Korean language course but there is none near me so I'm trying to teach myself but it isn't working out so great. I'm still trying to learn Hangul :P Good luck with learning Chinese (also on my to do list) and Korean. All the best with your course. I am also just after starting it. I'm moving on to Module 6 next. Dreading checkpoints 3-5 after seeing all the posts on here. I'm sure its not so bad once you put the effort in. Good luck anyway.
All the Best,
Alannah :)
Starting module 4! This is long, but I know this 100 hour course will pay off and I'm learning a lot about the English langauge from it.
