Fireworks Galore!

Well the Chinese certainly know how to set off a firework or two! There has been nothing but the sound of them booming all around for the last five days, throughout the night too so not much rest for the wicked. It's been a thoroughly enjoyable experience though and so pretty to watch (although I probably wouldn't recommend to anyone of a nervous disposition).

Took my new friend Xia Xin's advice and went to Beihai Park to stroll around the stunning frozen lake and climb up the White Dagoba where the view was literally breath-taking! Next was Houhai Lake before wandering through the maze of Hutong.

A delightful day which certainly whet my appetite for a warming bottle of 'baijiu' and the ensuing madness of the Chinese New Year proper!
