Costa Rica

Costa Rica

Costa Rica is safe, politically stable and relatively affluent, so it’s a pretty good choice if you want to teach English in central America. The government’s plan to create a bi-lingual workforce has created more TEFL jobs in Costa Rica and there are more opportunities to teach English in the country than ever before. Are you teaching in Costa Rica, or thinking of heading there? Tell us all about it here!

Portugal

Portugal

Though frequently overlooked in favour of Spain, Portugal has an ever-growing market for EFL teachers. Demand is greatest in north and central Portugal, with jobs cropping up in historic centres such as Coimbra, Braga and Viseu and in small seaside towns like Aveiro and Póvoa do Varzim. Wages are generally low (€700-1,000 net per month) but the cost of living, at least outside the big cities, is reasonable. As with everywhere else in Europe, an EU passport is preferred. Info adapted from '...

TEFL job's in India

TEFL job's in India

I am so interested in doing some TEFL work in India. It is one of the most amazing, interesting and colourful countries I've ever been to, and I just can't wait to go back. It seems to me like there are no TEFL jobs there, only voluntary work where you have to pay. Even if it's very low pay, that not what interest's me. Has anyone ever been or found a job over there? Please join and let me know. :)

Guatemala

Guatemala

Hey everyone, I was searching for a group about Guatemala and there wasn't one, SO I figured I would start this up. I was living in Guatemala earlier this year and it is a beautiful country. They desperately need teachers as there are a lot of small islands and pieces of land-locked land that have schools on them. Here we can talk about the country, anyone who has traveled or taught there... Hope to have some great discussion about this country!!!

Support Network for those going it alone to teach english abroad this year!

Hi Everyone!:-) Anyone out there going it alone to teach in Thailand or China this year? Or anywhere in the world! I am currently half way through the 140 TEFL course and planning to go to either China or Thailand to teach this year (leaning more towards China) Would love to hear from other people planning to travel this year. Trying to create a support network for those going it alone, so lets get our fears, questions, thoughts out in the open and help each other on our adventure........
