Hi Everyone!

Just wondering if anyone here has applied for EPIK in South Korea? I sent in a joint application two weeks ago, recieved confirmation a week later that they received it and are processing it and they said a couple of days ago we would hear from them shortly...but no word yet. Does anyone know how long it usually takes to get an interview (or for them to let you know if they don't want to interview you!)? I know I'm being impatient, i just really have my heart set on going to South Korea and can't wait to start making plans :)

I applied to GEPIK  and through an agency - i think, not entirely sure! the email add was GEPIK.portal but the advert on daves cafe suggested that it was an advert.  Can you post when they reply to you please? im worried about time scales too. I emailed on 29thmay, and without references. i advised that i could sent them references later. - not sure if that is going to work against me.

Also- has any one tried to apply for SMOE and GEPIK at the same time? Are there rules against that as they are pretty much the same job?

i got my interview last monday and heard i passed it last thursday...yay! now i'm trying to get all of documents together which is taking way longer than it should, lots of mess ups along the way but fingers crossed it will all work out ok! have you heard about your interview yet? i don't think sending your references later will go against you as they wait until they have everything to process it anyway.

I know i'm late on responding, but I went through an agency and had my EPIK interview recently. It took EPIK around two days to inform me that I was good to go. I'm from the U.S and lived in another state so I have to know obtain another state background check, also one of my references forgot to add a date and e-mail.

I sent off my application about 3 weeks ago to i to i and am still waiting for my interview. I am so nervous!! How many weeks did it take for you to get an interview? I really want to teach in South Korea but I am not very good at waiting! :)

I'm seriously considering applying for the EPIK programme in South Korea (for September). Origionally I was set on Japan and may still apply there but you seem to get a lot more benefits on EPIK. Also, with the contract being a government run programme, it seems to be a pretty safe bet.

While researching EPIK and South Korea etc. I've come across a fair few discussions (like on eslcafe.com) that give the impression of Japan being way better than Korea.

If anyone is actually in Korea/been on the EPIK programme, it would be great to hear your experiences and take on the whole South Korea vs Japan issue.
