Things are finally happening!

I have been planning to teach English in South Korea for the last 2 years but something has always got in the way. I wanted to go for a public school as I eventually want to become a teacher and I wasn't sure about how to find a good hagwon. So now I am waiting for my notice of appointment! I have been offered a job through the Gyeongnam POE at a school in Geochang...

CIA language school, Cheongju

Just a quick note, in case anyone gets offered the job on here (it's just started being re-advertised), I worked for CIA language school in Cheongju for  months, just before my contract was completed they fired me. This was November . At the risk of sounding like a disgruntled ex-employee, this was entirely so they didn't have to pay my bonus (they even told me it was about money). I enjoyed the  months I spent...

You can practice all the time when you are over there, just read every sign. You'll be amazed by how much is English in the Korean alphabet. To start you off, I've just given you the basic vowels (there are more) and consonants. Although I've tried to give...

Moving through

So with my course well under way, I feel it's time to add a new blog post!   Without a shadow of a doubt, this is hard work. There are no shortcuts, no easy answers. All you need is a little (well, a lot) of determination, and to keep your goal in mind.    Having struggled through grammar sections all day, I feel I am making steady progress, though my head is spinning a little!...
