CIA language school, Cheongju

Just a quick note, in case anyone gets offered the job on here (it's just started being re-advertised), I worked for CIA language school in Cheongju for  months, just before my contract was completed they fired me. This was November . At the risk of sounding like a disgruntled ex-employee, this was entirely so they didn't have to pay my bonus (they even told me it was about money). I enjoyed the  months I spent...

Bills in Korea

So, something I get asked sometimes is how much bills are in Korea. I just paid mine for the last two months, plus a penalty for not paying last month (a whole 2,200W/$2.20) and it came to about £60. In winter I use more gas, but less electricity. However, that's probably not far off average, so I guess they are probably for me (I heat my appartment in the evening, I don't like to be...

Korean 101

Firstly, a disclaimer! My Korean is terrible! However, I suggest that everyone going to Korea learns these pretty soon after they get out there, if not before. You can practice all the time when you are over there, just read every sign. You'll be amazed by how much is English in the Korean alphabet. To start you off, I've just given you the basic vowels (there are more) and consonants. Although I've tried to give...

Update on my Korea preparation

Well its been a while since i did an update. Everything is going smoothly, and by that i mean my whole world is turning upside down and time is moving at super sonic speed! :) I have my notice of appointment through from EPIK now and i am heading into the Korean embassy to turn it into a visa on Monday morning. Exciting times! I have handed in my notice at work and am planning...

My Apartment in Ulsan, South Korea

A 'Cribs' style tour of my apartment haha fridge contents and all lol! Sorry the sounds goes off a bit, haven't worked out the volume function on it yet :( Also if you're wondering why I have 'English' food - Korean food is very spicy and I can barely manage a Masala so I tend to cook for myself. I am, however, trying Korean food but I have only been here a week. So far I like Mandu (dumplings) rice tea and the noodle soups (like Ramen)
