Hi! I am very much interested in this teaching internship in Thailand. However, because of classes I will not be able to go in May. I noticed that they also had a group go last October. Does anyone know if they offer these internships every May and October? If so, I would love to go in October this year!

Hey sorry if this reply is late, i've been v busy! >.<

The excitement of booking the internship is very distracting from my degree lol :D

It was really easy to book, i did it over the phone in about 10 mins! It cost £1075 as i got the early bird discount, but as you can see it's only £100 more atm.

Here is an email i got off Laura before i booked, i hope it helps!

Our Thailand internship is a great way to gain valuable teaching experience in a supported/organized environment. I’m sure living the Thai life for 5 months appeals too! As this opportunity departs on the 17th October and availability is very limited we need to start working on your application as soon as possible, please contact us to discuss this further.

The cost of the Thailand Internship programme is currently £1075.50 with 10% off for book by the end of this month. You  will also need to budget approx £100 for your visa, £450 upwards for flights to Bangkok and then of course some travel insurance. Things like flights, insurance and visas cannot and should not be arranged until after you have booked your space and been accepted on the programme.

On booking your space on the Thailand internship we will set you up with an online account holding your course information (if applicable) and details on the internship programme. You will gain access to your online theory training at the time of booking and we will also book your practical weekend course for a date and location suitable for you.

This account will also hold an application form and list of documents that need to be sent directly to our in country co-coordinator Masako (CV, covering letter etc). On receipt of these Masako will then contact you regarding the next stage. It is not a guaranteed position, candidates will go through an application process before being accepted. In the event that you are not accepted on this opportunity you will get a refund of the internship amount minus the cost of the TEFL training which you will have undertaken at this stage.

What you need:

·         You need to be able to arrive in Thailand on the Monday 17th October 2011 and stay for 5 months (you’ll be back home Early March 2012!)

·         You need to be a native English speaker

·         You need to have a degree (BA/BSC) and be 21 or over

·         You need to hold a passport from one of the following countries: UK, USA, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand or Canada

·         Must have completed all online elements of 140 hour course by Friday 30th September 2011

When You Arrive In Thailand:

·         5 months practical teaching experience in Thailand with a reputable partner/school

·         Living allowance provide, Intern will receive payments on following schedule;

     30 November - 10,000B
16 December - 2500B
30 December - 10,000B
13 January 2012 - 2500B
31 January - 10,000B
15 February - 2500B
2 March - 12500B

·        Thai style studio apartment

·         Ongoing support in Thailand

·         Airport pick-up and transfers

·      A comprehensive 5 day orientation. Orientation covers transfers, welcome dinner, Thai language and ethics induction, session on Thai manners and society, tour of Bangkok. Breakfast, lunch and dinner covered during orientation, with accommodation. 2 day i-to-i weekend course included.

Most positions are located in Central Thailand. Many are in Lop Buri and surrounding provinces. However there are also placements in the north east and east provinces.

Hi, I'm interested in going to Thailand.  Where do I find the information on where the schools are, pupils, costings, accommodation etc.

Cheers. Juliet

Basically,
most schools are in the lop buri province but u basically don’t find out till
you arrive. This is due to the fact that things are every changing and once you
have been here a while you will understand that "set in stone" is
only false hope thus you don’t want to know.

Pupils you get to put in a preference of primary or secondary but again not guaranteed.

costings
are on the i to i website. Accommodation is discussed above, pretty much looks
like a hotel room, basic but decent, bed, a/c, bathroom, tv ect

Hi guys! My name's Bridget, and I'm currently on the May internship in Thailand. If you have any questions about the internship (both the before and during parts), don't hesitate to shoot me a line. I'm keeping a blog for i-to-i about the internship, so have a gander at that if you're curious to see what your possible future in Thailand might be like :)

YAY I've finally booked on after talking about it for AGES!! I sent off all my application forms last week and was just wondering whether i should start applying for all the visa stuff now or is that being arrogant and i should wait until they've actually confirmed my placement?

Hey everyone!

I have just signed up for the Thai internship and am SO excited!! Can't wait to be in Thailand!! :-)
Really looking forward to meeting everyone that's going! Is anyone else nervous?! I am!!
I just found the Facebook group...the link is http://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/168315699893867

I think we have to wait until we get confirmed before we apply for any visa stuff, because i-to-i will send us all the documents we need for it.

I have booked the internship and in the process of applying now and working through TEFL course, harder than I was expecting but I am learning lots myself in the process. I needed the experience, challenge and change this internship offers.

Hopefully see you all soon.
