Hi, I taught in Japan for almost 2 years (in Osaka - the eating capital!) and now regularly go back for holidays. I'm jealous you are going in August Graham! Are you going to teach? I'm sure you'll love Japan - I haven't met one person who doesn't!!! If you have any questions, ask away! |

Thanks emma, no questions as of yet....but i'll be asking away once i finish my degree in May, oh one just popped in my head, what have you heard of Kyoto? |
Kyoto is my favorite place in Japan! It is full of temples and is a popular place for foreign and Japanese tourists alike! And of course home to The Gieshas! It's beautiful, but a somewhat quieter town. Are you more of a city person? Also Kyoto is close to Osaka (about 45 minutes away by train), Nara and Kobe. From Osaka you can also get the shinkansen (the bullet train) to Tokyo which takes about 2.5hrs!!! |

This is my first post!!! YAY!!! I am moving to Japan in little over a week to teach. I've gone with Interac and will be based in Miyako City, Iwate (north) teaching at 3 high schools. Ideally i wanted to be near Osaka but I've got the rest of my life to move about, so who knows i might end up there someday. |
