Well I just finished my 100 hour course with i-toi and have been actively seeking employment during the duration of this time. Needless to say, I've applied to almost 100 jobs now and have gotten almost no response beyond an initial interview with gaba and some informational paperwork with various places and people. I have covered all of the job resources that I know of and have not had any luck yet. I haven't entirely lost hope but I've a feeling that my lack of experience in teaching is holding back responses. I tried to contact i-to-i today to try out the so called job placement and every number they provide no longer works. So can anyone give me advice on how to land my first job in Japan? Obviously what I am doing is not enough. |

Hey, Good luck with the job hunt! |

Yeah I called them, It doesn't seem they live up to their advertising of "paid job placement". Oh well I suppose. |

I've gotten a total of one response so far and I find out if i got the job in two weeks. They like to keep you in suspense, I suppose. To bad i-to-i doesn't offer placement for Japan. Good luck with your search, I'll keep you updated with mine. |

So I've gotten some more responses. I've made it to the interveiw stage on 4 of them and have heard back from 3. Footprints has moved me forward to placement in Korea...which wasn't my first choice but it's better than nothing. But at the same time it's not really a job offer. I'm still awaiting response on another and really have about 4 months before I can even consider getting a job in Korea because they require an FBI backround check which supposedly takes that long to be retrieved. |
