Teaching English at home is rewarding employment for qualified EFL (English as a Foreign Language) and PGCE teachers to use their skills and enjoy flexible contracts as and when it suits them.

Home tuition is an intensive language study programme when the student lives and studies in the home of the teacher. The student will usually have a 10-30 hours of language tuition per week with the teacher. The student also benefits from the experience of staying in the home of a family (or single person) and using English in day to day situations.

Homelingua requires qualified native-speaker EFL teachers to host and teach students in their own homes. General, Business or Academic English, adults and teenagers. 15-30 hours 1:1 tuition per week plus excursions. We are looking for welcoming teachers with comfortable homes who can offer homestay teaching from as little as one week per year. Flexible working arrangements and good rates paid.

The home teacher provides accommodation in their home, all meals and a one-to-one English learning programme.

Our students, mainly from France, Germany, Switzerland, Japan and Russia come to England to live and study in the home of their teacher. Living as part of a family means they are able to experience British culture at first-hand, as well as being totally immersed in the English language. We have students of all ages from teenagers to business clients.

As a homestay teacher you will be able to enjoy the benefits of working from home and organising your own working day. This is also a very rewarding way of teaching; students are usually very self-motivated, hard-working and make good progress.

We are a small, friendly and supportive organisation and offer very competitive rates. Teachers who can host and teach Young students (11-17) are particularly required!
