Hi there

I think quite a few people are interested in going to Shanghai in the October break?  We've booked flights from Shenzhen to get there on the 2nd and leave on the 6th.  Does anybody know of any good cheap places to stay?  It would be cool to get a group of us together.  If you're into this then write back and lets sort something out.

It cost about 1, 350 yuan but the train wasn't much cheaper and we thought it was worth it seeing as the train took nearly ten times as long.  Got the flights from this website

The prices seem to go up and down all the time.

Not sure if you guys eventually went to Shanghai, but for your future reference, in China the cost of travel is normally even more expensive for this type of long holidays, and train tickets are nearly impossible to get - as the train station do not offer remote or online booking so you have to go to the station or speicific ticket outlet to buy them.  Chinese train stations are a little scary for us who are used to regular single ques in UK:)

As for the airfair, my best advice is for you to use http://english.ctrip.com/ - it has many very good offers.

Other than that, hope you have all had a great long holiday break!
