No. I did mine a couple of weekends ago here in Boston. It was really fun, puts all of the online stuff in perspective.

Hey guys im also from the US and will also be doing my 20 hours of teaching in Beijing. Haven't bought my ticket yet and am thinking about flying out of LAX. You can get a one-way ticket with Southwest airlines for about $80 and i believe it will be cheaper to fly out of L.A.

And I can't figure out what insurance to buy.  Does anyone have any good reccomendations? 

Hi!  I'll be flying out of Hawaii...vaccines are mentioned in the FAQ sheet...

Q: Which vaccinations am I required to have before travelling to China?

A: You should be up to date with cover for Polio, Tetanus etc and will usually require cover for

diseases such as Hepatitis A and B, Diphtheria and Typhoid. Please consult your doctor at least 6

weeks before departure to discuss which vaccinations are recommended.

We don’t place interns in Malarial areas but if you choose to travel in China please familiarise yourself

with risk areas and obtain advice about Malaria tablets from your local Chinese hospital.

I'm coming from the US too, Michigan.  I haven't decided where to fly from yet.  I've been looking at various options, and wish they'd hurry up with the visa too!!

I have to head over early because I fly standby and still have to do my teaching course. Probably trying to be in Beijing by the 18th. Any ideas on where to stay for the extra few days?
