Hey all! I was wondering if any of you are going to be teaching in Madrid this fall? I was accepted into the auxilaire program and am moving to Madrid this fall. Does anyone have any tips about the best places to live are? Or any tips about life in madrid in general? Thanks! |

Hi there, I am hoping to work in Madrid this year, although not as an auxiliar. In terms of where to live, I found this (http://kellycrull.com/madrid/best_places_to_1/) a while ago, which looks quite interesting. Bear in mind that the original post is now seven years old so it's probably a bit outdated. For more up-to-date information, speak to AlixM09, another Chalkboard user who is currently living and working in Madrid. You could also check out the Madrid Guiri Guide (http://guiriguidetomadrid.com/category/logistics/house-hunting/) - I don't know how useful the posts are as I haven't yet read my way through the site! Other than that, get in contact with some of the other auxiliars in Madrid. Having checked out your blog I noticed that you've found a few already. One of my favourite bloggers is Gee, Cassandra (http://geecassandra.com/) from whose blog you can find links to several other American/Canadian auxiliars. Hope that helps. Briona |

Thanks for the tips Briona! I will have to add AlixM09 and ask him for some info. Off to check out Guiri Guide to Madrid and Gee, Cassandra's blog now! Estrella |

I've been living in Madrid for the past 2.5 years, so if you've got any particular questions, just drop me a line and I'll be happy to help you out - Jo |
