Hi all,

I have just started my 120 hour TEFL course (incl Business English) and am considering going to Spain to get a job!

I know a couple of people in Barcelona who are currently teaching, though they both have CELTA qualifications and not TEFL. I'm essentially wondering what you think my chances are of getting work there without a CELTA. I know that some people that have secured work there with just the TEFL, so it's not impossible, but just wondering whether i concentrate on trying to get a job there or just leave it for now and head to the Far East.

I have a degree in Spanish and lived there for 7 months a few years ago. No idea if that will make the slightest difference?!

Thanks!

Oli

Hi Oli,

I'm in the same boat. However I am looking at going over to Spain in August for the begininng of their new school year (September). I have done the 120 hr TEFL course, and have a Spanish passport. Also have a degree in Teaching and been teaching for three years. I am really hoping to get work. Be good to know how you get on.

Good luck

Ryan

I'll give you a shout if I get over there!
