Hello there!
My girlfriend and I have just been offered a job in Chachoengsao! We are really chuffed about it! I was just wondering if anyone had been to this place before and have any background info on it (ie, housing etc?) We can't seem to find any accommodation anywhere in Chachoengsao! Also, have any of you TEFLers worked with English Avenue? Are they an ok agency to work for?!
Many thanks :D

Hi, I live in Nong Chok, which is on the eastern fringes of Bangkok on the way to Chachoengsao, and have visited there a couple of times. It is a pleasant enough town in an attractive riverside setting and has a vast temple complex which attracts a fair number of visitors (mainly Thai). Boat trips on the river, an old wooden market and a sand sculpture museum (!) are other attractions, and a couple of floating markets have been established nearby to try to tap into the tourist market. There are also good communication links to Bangkok (bus and train), which is about 100 km away. Not sure about about accommodation though - if English Avenue don't assist with finding this I would suggest checking in to a local guest house and having a look round when you get there - it shouldn't be too much of a problem. I can't really tell you anything about English Avenue either, except that I know the name and haven't heard any adverse comments. As I'm job hunting at the moment I may well contact them myself... I hope this has been of some help, let me know if you want to know anything else. Best of luck, Stuart
