I have just joined the group - Hello - and will be heading out to the Lawoe Thailand Internship in Oct. Looking at buying my flights and just wondered if others have bought a single or return flight??

Not booked mine yet but will probably just go one way, just because I don't know when I will come back and plan to go other places before returning anyway.

I got a return but am able to change the date back as i think i will stay on.  When do you all get into bangkok? i get in at 6 on the 17th... ahh very excited now

Just thought I would mention...

You are not allowed entry into Thailand unless you have a visa already sorted out or you have a flight leaving Thailand at some point.

For example, I will be arriving in Thailand on November 2nd and I will get a free 30 day tourist visa as I haven't got a job out there as of yet. I have then booked a cheap flight with Airasia.com to Vietnam so that I definitely have a flight out of Thailand. It's up to me whether I use that flight or not. I will probably use it though as it will mean I can get another 30 day tourist visa on entry back into Thailand instead of a 14 day tourist visa if re-entering Thailand by land.

The flight does not have to be within the 30 days, it can be any time. You will just have to do visa runs in between then.

The reason I am saying this is because my friend  bought a one way ticket to Thailand and was told she was not allowed on the flight unless she had a flight going out of Thailand at some point. This was because she did not have a visa sorted out. She had to book a last minute flight leaving Thailand at the airport and it was more expensive than doing a return.
