Hi All Current China Interns

I wanted to find out whether most people managed to be placed where they stated on their placement form. It seems that most of the placements are in the south anyway, but just curious if anyone has been put in some remote village where they only excitement is the occasional scattering of tumbleweed...

I was told interns are always placed in cities.

The closest we'd get to working in a rural area is if your school is in the outskirts of Beijing.

And I got the impression that the "outskirts of Beijing" is pretty much still a massive, sprawling urban area.

I wonder how 'rural' we'll go. I'd say some people might get a serious culture shock from the cities if they are from some backwater bog area of Ireland (not meant offence here by the way)
