Have only just recently applied, and picked North China as preference, as I would love to see Xi'an.

Hi, I  am going on the Teach in China internship.. I have requested South China. It is a big adventure! Always good to be open to new experiences... should keep me on my toes for a little while.

i'm going! would like to be in north china too, not too north, Bejing area really

I'm down to go as well, north was my preference too, will just have to go with the flow and get there when I can.

Heya, I've requested to go to Southern China...its a bit scary not knowing exactly where we'll be until we arrive! How is everyone getting on with the TEFL course...as I signed up late November I am frantically getting it all done!

I'm flying out from Glasgow to Beijing on the 10th of February so I'm there for the Chinese New Year. Is anyone else going out before the induction on the 23rd?

I plan to travel after we finish in July...my sister has just been to Vietnam and loved it! Also want to go to Cambodia and Laos. Not sure where else yet - depends on money I guess! As I am hoping to be down South, do we have to travel back to Beijing at the end or not? Might be easier for me to travel on from where I'll (hopefully) be. Guess yet again we'll find out more once we arrive!

Yep going from Heathrow on the 22nd of Feb to Beijing! Cant wait! But still got a lot to sort out, has everyone sorted out there visa and that already? Im going up to London on monday to sort it out. Also, I know were getting paid out there but how much does everyone think its a good idea to take!?

I'm flying with Air China, booked it through STA, think my flight departs at 16.50. What about you? Got my visa invitation the other day but have been waiting for my new passport as I lost my one! I thought i'd have a lot more money to take with me than I do, but I'm such a bad saver and not sure what's the right amount to take really, just hope it's enough!

Hello everyone! Im going out to China in Febuary! I was supposed to be going with a friend but he can't go now so its just me! Im a little nervous as its my first time traveling on my own but im very excited and can't wait to meet everyone when we get out there! I will be flying out from london, but i still have to book my flights and obtain my visa! ( They haven't sent me the letter yet!) Is antone else flying out on the 22nd from London? If so can you recommend an airline to look into??

I'm flying from London - but one one the girls I've met on campfire has a contact to get us cheap flights, so there are a few of us who have been chatting on FB who are hopefully booking together! When I know more I'll post it up... Wow, its just so soon!!! Good luck everyone!

Hi All, Looking forward to meeting everyone in Beijing!!! :)  It's certainly going to be quite the adventure.  I put in for South China so fingers crossed that where i'll be!!!  I'm playing to travel around China & Tibet at the end of the placement until my visa runs out, then who knows where i'll head after that!!!  Looks like i'm going to be one of very few Aussies!!!  Looking forward to that!!! Hi everyone... I'm a 'newbie' and really looking forward to meeting all those signed up for February arrival in Beijing!  I'm hoping for Beijing or Shanghai provinces but.. hey.. it's an adventure!

I got a quote from Thomas Cook for an open return flight from Heathrow (via HK) that allows you to fly back from a different airport (which is what I'll need as I plan to travel after!) costing £553. The return flight has to be within 12 months, so gives you plenty of time. That's the only official quote I have so far. Gonna chack out STA later this week.

Does anyone know about securing visas for other countries if we plan to travel on? Do we need to sort them all out before we leave the UK? Also, has anyone had any luck finding decent travel insurance? Need my laptop covered...

To all those who are planning to travel to other countries when we finish in July, are you booking are return flight to the UK even so? Do we have to in order to get into the country? I dont know where to find this information out
