I guess I'll kick this off! Hello everyone, My name is Louise, I'm 21 and I'm from Ireland :)

I signed up for the internship last Monday-couldn't wait for the application to open as i've wanted to do it for a few months now. Since then I've been working on my TEFL course which so far I am really enjoying!

I really hope I get accepted-positive thoughts! Anywho, I dont have much more to say right now, just that I'm looking forward to getting to know you all! :D

Jemimah - I do not think there is a facebook page yet (that I know of anyway) I was thinking of making one but I wasn't sure if it would be too early haha :)

Hello everyone!! :) I'm wanting to apply for the internship, missed out on the August one. Has anybody worked out how much it will cost altogether with visa and flights?  :)

Berlin_840_medium Jemimah 30 posts

Hey Carmen till Friday the intenship cost is £995 which includes the cost of the 140h course.

You will also need to budget £100 for your entry visa, £450 upwards for flights to Beijing, £220 for a visa extension on arrival and then some travel insurance which could cost up to £200 or more, i'm actually currently reasearching reputable insurance companies. So this could cost up to £2000. I'm not sure which currency your working with so i just did pounds as i'm using it :)

Also other things to consider are things such as clothes and vaccinations that you will need.

I hope this has helped.x

Thanks Jemimah! :) Very helpful indeed, yes pounds is what I meant! I rang up as I'm already doing the 120hour course so they will be discounting that off too happy times! :) Just need to save and hope not all of the places go too quickly! xx

Hi Brad,

I know that Denise who is a previous China intern, answers loads of questions from others so you might find the answers you are looking for here already, but i guess you could ask her as i know she does many Q&A's sessions. http://www.onlinetefl.com/tefl-chalkboard/i-to-i/posts/6501-denise-knows-best-get-your-questions-about-the-teach-in-china-internship-answered

Also a girl on the Jan internship has a blog here which i follow www.xnotjustadreamx.tumblr.com i know it sounds a bit stalkerish but its really insightful and she talks about some of the problems and issues shes come across on the internship.

Alternatively you could join the Jan 2012 facebook page and post your questions there as i have seen others do so already.http://www.facebook.com/groups/chinainterns2012/

Hope this has helped! :D

Thanks for the links!, I'm waiting for them to call me back so I can find out more, as I don't know if I'm meant to order a course or something, annoyingly it's Sunday =/.. I need to sort it out quickly as I'm in a full time job and will have to arrange cutting down hours/leave etc

Hi everyone!

Would love to do this internship. Has anyone already got their TEFL certificate and paid for the internship separately? If so, what is the cost?

Ash_china_medium ash_freeman 8 posts

Hey, Hanskiii i havent done a tefl seperatly but i did ring them to find out about that and they said there is a reduced cost.

it went down to about £600 but that was when the internship was £995 but aparently its gone up.

any 1 know what the price of it now is?

Laura_copy_medium laura_mc 20 posts

Hey guys,

The price of the China internship is currently £995, there is a promotion running until July 31st.

Hanskii - As Ash says there is a reduced cost of the internship. The reduction will depend on how many hours of TEFL training you've completed.

Hi guys,

I am still seriously considering doing this internship however have a few questions someone may be able to answer.

With the overall cost at £995 unitil the 31st July do you have to pay it all in one go or is that in parts as ive just left university so like many im a bit skint atm but dont want to miss out while i save?

thanks for any help in advance :)

looking forward to getting to know you all

Beth

Hi Louise, what was the application like and how long did it take you to complete?

I took a look at it and it seems quite daunting. :/ I think i might have to set aside a couple of days to do it.

Is it possible to save your application and go complete it later or do you have to do it all in one go?

Thanks, Jemimah.x
