Hi Guys. |

Hi there,
You might want to try getting quotes from these companies that other Chalkboarders have gone with in the past:
http://www.endsleigh.co.uk/Travel/Pages/Home.aspx
Hope that helps - I'd recommend chatting to someone on the phone at each provider, rather than doing it online - just to make sure you're covered for working abroad. Has anyone else out there got any other suggestions?
Good luck!
P.S - I've moved this topic into the proper China group, as it'll get more views that way!

Have you seen how expensive insurance can be...I mean, theoretically, its not travel insurance, is it? As we are going to another country to live and work...When I put in all the details correctly I got a quote of about £400 for two people... I can't afford that!!..but, I don't want to go without any at all...I'm confused! Will check those links though, Honor, cheers! :) P.S. I have seen a Chinese company that will insure you for about £5 a month when you are out there, especially for foreigners apparently... Will try and find they link and the name of the company. |

Yea insurance is an interesting one that I hadn't given much thought. I mean travel insurance wouldn't be right would it, and if something happened and you tried to claim you might find yourself not covered. But other insurance types are rather expensive |

Hi, yes travel insurance will not cover you working there it will break the policy if you try and claim and state you are working in China, but if you are only going on a vacation then yes travel insurance will be okay depending on the duration? Regards from Ray.

worldnomads.com is certainly the best. Health insurance is extremely important in China, especially if you want to access the expensive western hospitals. - www.expatseek.com |

use the travel insurance 1st, and just make sure the school offers you medical insurance with the teaching contract. |
