Quick grammar question

Why is ' The man in the suit showed me the way.' considered Past Simple.   My understanding of the Past Participle was that it is a completed action or state that ends with -ed.   Am I being stupid?

Teaching to young learners

Hi!   I am stuck on the assignment for teaching English to young learners module question 5. Am I supposed to teach the students the symbols from the phonetic alphabet when teaching a new double letter sound or just the actual letters and words they are found in? Please help!   Thanks!

God help me!

My brain is actually fried trying to do checkpoint 5!  It is definately the hardest checkpoint.
