I was wondering if it made any difference about when you took the course. If I have time to take the course now but would not be able to start looking for a job until fall or possibly next year due to other commitments would it impact my ability to get a job later?
Thank you for any advice. |

Hi, I shouldn't think so. I didn't have much of a break between my course and getting my first job, but I don't know of anyone who has had problems. It would probably be an advantage if you then managed to do some either private lessons or volunteer lessons between taking the course and going abroad (for example, you could work with refugees, or just go in and offer to teach people who need it English for a low hourly fee). |

Unfortanetly, that does not really work. I work at a summer camp and work upwards of 100 hours a week during that time so there is not really a lot of time to do anything else. |

Well, a summer camp sounds like you'll have experience with kids anyways! Even if not ESL. Where are you thinking of going to teach? |

I have just a few years of experience with kids now. I don't really know where I would go to teach yet or even if I would go this year. |

Well, I guess it is up to you at the end of the day, but I don't think it would do any harm. I'm not a school though, and maybe you should have a destination in mind before you start, just because if it is Western Europe, the Middle East or a few other places, you settle on you are going to probably want a 4 week classroom course. |
