I am a 12 year US Army veteran with many tours around the world under my belt (all in uniform unfortunately). I have always wanted to be a teacher in one way or another. I tend to teach/instruct classes to my soldier and have been told that I have a great nack for it and am a real confident speaker. I am leaving the service after this last year in Afghanistan and I want to travel the world and teach every and any willing students who would like to listen and learn and teach me as well. I would love to teach in Thailand and maybe Tiwan for some time. Afterwards I want to try Guatamala and Argentina and possible Mexico. I am also interested in Teaching in China and definately Japan later on. I love being able to wake up and just wonder what possiblities each day will bring to me. As a teacher I know the possibilities are endless and fruitful. I am researching a lot into TEFL/TESOL/CELTA. I realize that this is always a big plus to teachers abroad. Unfortunately I have spent most of my miltary career deployed and do not have a degree. I have taken a semester of college but had financial issues which hindered that for me. After I get my TEFL and hopefully find a place to teach and once I get into the jist of it, I am going to start online college and work my way up to an Aplied Linguistics degree and if I still have time I would also like to get a degree in English as well. I have a lot of plans but I want to use each day to the fullest as soon as I get back from this last deploment. I would greatly appreciate any and all advice, as I am new to all of this.

Hi there,
Welcome to Chalkboard :-)
Great to see you have some ideas as to where you'd like to teach and travel.
I've noticed you've created a group regarding TEFL jobs without a degree so hopefully I can give you some advice!
Firstly you may like to take a look at this article called 'No Degree? No Problem..You Can Still Teach Abroad'
This is a great starting point and you can find it here:
