After staying in my new accomodation for the first night I thought it would be a good time to start my Journa. I arrived Huangshi in the Hubei Province after a 15 hour train journey on my own!I was collected at the train station with no hassle and took to my small city where the 'fun' was to begin! When we arrived i was shown around the school which was quite small and I was told that I would be teaching evening classes of children aged 3-12 in class sizes up to 20 kids, so things where looking up! I wasnt sacred about the teaching as they assured me they would help with lesson plans etc. We then went for a lunch to a very lavish Tea house and I was feeling quite positive about the whole thing. They tehn took me to a hotel beside the school as my house wasnt ready an I caught up on some much needed sleep! The next morning I was taken to my new humble abode which is situated beside the school. Its a huge apartment on the 8th floor above a food market! So as you can imagine I have a series of rats cats and dogs to dodge before I enter the house! Inside the kitchen abd bthroom are stinking! The fridge is covered in mould and there is no heating!(very cold) Last night I spent my time huddled under the douvet listening to the huge thunder storm outside thinking What have i let myself in for?! Im out here totally isolated with only one chinese person to talk to and feel totally useless as I cant even go shopping on my own!
But today is a new day, Im going to meet the children and get settled into the school, all i can do is stay positive an hope things get better! Until then.........

Hiya :)
I was hoping to go on the internship myself so i have been avidly reading yours and Davids posts. Did you request a particular area? Hubei is in the far North isn't it?
Wow, classes of 3-12? They must be quite hard to teach with such a big age gap between them!
I really do hope things start to look up for you soon. :)
Take care.
Eek! No heating - hope that all gets sorted soon!
Best of luck with your lessons - and when it comes to shopping just go for it! Take a piece of paper and haggle away.
Oh man - sounds like a rough night. Hopefully things will turn around for you.
