Oh yeah.

I kind of forgot about this board and I guess I have a lot to say right now, so maybe I should share.   I work for a small, privately run school in Yogyakarta. The school is very nice, the teachers are amazing. Lots of $$ goes into the school and the facilities are great. I like it. However.   When I came in to this school they told me that I was "legal"...

First day of school

My looking and asking and all of that jazz paid off! There was a bit of a delay with that whole evacuating from the volcano thing... but tomorrow I teach my first real ESL class. Ever. And I am NERVOUS. I have never worked with adults before, and these guys are grad students on a scholarship from the Indonesian government. I am getting them ready for their IELTS. An anthology of world playwrites?...

Gearing Up and Winding Down

I am eight days from leaving for Indonesia! I am probably as nervous as I should have been when I went away to college.   By boyfriend and I are arriving in Indonesia on a tourist visa, and I am bringing along my college diploma and my TESOL cert. My plan is to try to find a teaching position in Yogyakarta, although my searches from the states have been pretty futile. There are plenty of...
