Hi I am Fiona, 28 years old and live in the UK.
I am an outgoing people person who always loves to help those around her. I love children and adore my two nieces. My family and friends are very important to me and I love the fact that I come from a very big loving family.
I have always dreamed about revisiting Mexico and maybe teach English there. I would also like to teach in either Japan or China - my friend is currently teaching English in China and he loves every minute of it and has often told me to go out there and join him.
The main thing I love about life is that there are some many opportunities out there you just have to grab hold of the reins and take control of your inner desires.
I decided to do the TEFL course as I saw it as a opportunity to experience a new adventure and challenge in not only teaching english but in a foreign country.
My favourite grammatical tense would have to be the present perfect continous tense as it describes my TEFL experience - it started way back in 2008 and is still happening until I complete my course, get myself a fabulous teaching post and put my skills and abilities to practice and educate children & adults about the English language.
Hi, My name is Paul I graduated from York St...
Hi! I am hoping to teach English in Japan next...

I hope your dreams become a reality. I am Dave I have been teaching for many years in secondary schools. I did a two year spell in New Zealand as well. I am getting closer to finishing my TEFL course and would like to teach in China or Japan. If in your search for a job out there you know of any good contacts you could help me out with I would much appreciate it. Even though I have taught for many years it is still quite nerve racking searching for a new life abroad. I have visited China three times and the first time stayed with a chinese family for two weeks which was a great experience. How far are you on with your search for a job? What have you found is the best way to apply/search without being caught out?. Hope your search is fruitful and good luck finishing your course.
Dave
Hi Jen,
Yes hopefully I am looking at next year too just got to finish off my last remaining 4 specialist certificates and then get applying. I have sent my details over to interac but havent heard anything yet. Think i need to do some research on where I would want to teach though. I am a bit like you a country bumpkin - I moved to Manchester 6 months ago thinking it would be s great experience but all the hustle and bustle isnt all that.
Keep me updated on how you get on.
Fiona :-)
Hiya Fiona,
I see you're thinking of teaching in Japan next year, I'm hoping to head there too :o) Ideally like to make the March intake so I've started applying to a few agencies to get the ball rolling. It's tricky deciding where I like to be based though, although it seems that with most agencies you don't have a great deal of controll. After alot of research, head-scratching and trawling through my Lonely Planet guide I'm pretty keen on the kyushu and Honshu areas in the South (I think the North would be a little too chilly for me!). There are the larger cities of Hiroshima, Nagasaki and Fukuoka to consider, but I am hoping to end up in a semi rural location. I think this will make for a more genuine travel experience and, to be honest, I am a bit of a country bumpkin...I love visiting big cities but it doesn't take long before I need an escape from the urban jungle! Also the cost of living is lower in the smaller towns and cities. Have you hd ny thoughts on where you would like to live?
Jen
