i would rather do a CELTA course. i think i made a mistake doing this i - to i course.
most companies have jobs available for their students.
i-to-i doesnt seem to have any.....
after having completed the 120 hr course, and looking for jobs, i found nothing.....everybody wants 1-2 yrs experince or face to face teaching course...
everyone prefers Celta rather than tefl.....so my advice would be.....research the copmany offering your course....ensure that they can guarantee a postion, if not an interview atleast with some reputable.
this course does not really gain you much. its a shame really, but hell was a good experience in it self.
as a pharmacist i belive i have all the requisite skills, and i think i could do well...but i-to-i has very little to offer with respect to value for money i believe.
ther span of countries to teach or collaborations is very very very limiited....
look before you buy....

Hi Farhan,
I'm sorry you feel you made a mistake taking a TEFL course however I think you may have missed a few helpful aids on our website.
We actually offer a completely free jobs placement service offering positions in:
South Korea, Chezch Republic, China, Georgia, Japan, Ecuador and Indonesia. Having done the 120 hour course you would be able to apply for these openings provided you met the job description.
If you feel you would like some more support when embarking on your first TEFL job then we have a range of internships with everything included such as; accommodation, school placement, in country orientation and 24 hour support. These opportunities are available in China, Thailand and Vietnam.
Alternatively, if you would prefer to search for a job independently, we have a database of over 8000 job contacts you are welcome to use. We also recommend various job websites on our TEFL jobs page and we are currently in the process of putting together a jobs board tailored to our graduates needs.
In addition to this, if you would like some assistance with applying for your own job we have a free e-book called TEFL Uncovered which coverers everything you need to know including C.V templates and application assistance as well as guidance about finding good work.
We also have a 'Six steps guide to finding your dream job abroad.'
I will list the links to the different sections of our website so please feel free to take a look as I'm sure they will be of assistance.

There are many jobs and options available to you now you're TEFL qualified with us however if you feel you would like to extend your qualification (You mentioned a CELTA qualification), i-to-i actually offer a qualification called the EDI Cert TEFL. This is a CELTA equivalent and is accredited by the British council.
Having done a TEFL course with us you will be able to upgrade to this level if you wish. You can find some more information by downloading the EDI guide here:

If at any point you would like to discuss your options with us please feel free to contact our courses team who would be happy to offer you some guidance.

Thanks for your comments Farhan and I hope you find this helpful.
Kind Regards,

in all honesty, im looking to go to the middle east, and yes you are all right, there is ample opportunity out there, but the middle require that experience profile, or mostly CELTA.
and doing on online course doesnt help either, most people want physical class room work, or something whereby you hvae had interaction....
hence why my dissapointment.

I agree with Rodger - you've started, so you might aswell finish. Once you get some experience I'd say is a better time to take some time out and do CELTA. I've been working over two years as a teacher despite leaving school at 16 and then only later gaining totally unrelated vocational qualifications/
Remember that what you see online is not a true representation of the work available and when you arrive in a country with your CV you usually find a whole new not-on-line world of available work.
You will also find that most companies offering a course with a position to follow are very expensive and also the position is usually only for a short period of time. I've known people do those and hate the job they ended up with - you don't get to choose where you work!
At least this way you can have an affordable course that you can do in your own time and afterwards have the choice of taking up an internship, using the placement service or finding a job of your own, as many people do.
I also think you'll find that most people doing this course did, in fact, research many possibilties before deciding what to do. It's no good rushing into something then regretting your own hasty decision and blaming the course provider!
Anyway - you'll be fine! Just look at all the people on this site happily teaching abroad as I write with the very qualification you so disparage.... Cheer up!
I think you're mistaken. I don't think you've even tried hard enough. I personally believe you have looked at the opportunities and have judged the book by its cover. I have no teaching experience, yet I've landed 3 offers from 3 different countries, within 1 month after the completion of my i-to-i TEFL course. How did I get those? I got them through i-to-i's Job Placement service. Korea and China are two examples. So, ponder more on your thoughts about it, because several of us I am sure can vouch for it.
Maybe you should rethink your plan of attack instead of taking a job post for face value. If I have no experience teaching, a TEFL certificate, I have 3 offers in front of me, then that must say something.
As I've said in another post, if what you think is what you believe, then so shall it be. Your attitude about it, for one, doesn't help. It sounds to me like you are seeking a guaranteed, easy route, but who am I? I'm just a person interpreting your comments, and conveying my wisdom and experience to you, because it worked for me.
Take a different approach, and maybe it shall work for you.
I've seen lots of jobs that require no experience. It depends which countries you are looking at.
