Celta VS TEFL

i would rather do a CELTA course. i think i made a mistake doing this i - to i course. most companies have jobs available for their students. i-to-i doesnt seem to have any..... after having completed the 120 hr course, and looking for jobs, i found nothing.....everybody wants 1-2 yrs experince or face to face teaching course... everyone prefers Celta rather than tefl.....so my advice would be.....research the copmany offering your course....ensure that they can guarantee a postion, if not an interview atleast with some reputable. this course does not really gain you much. its a shame really, but hell was a good experience in it self. as a pharmacist i belive i have all the requisite skills, and i think i could do well...but i-to-i has very little to offer with respect to value for money i believe. ther span of countries to teach or collaborations is very very very limiited.... look before you buy.... Hey! You haven't said where you are looking for work. I did the CertTESOL (CELTA equivalent) and really enjoyed it. Also, are you a native speaker? If you aren't, that's going to work against you either way. I do agree though, that you do tend to get more help from a classroom based course than i-to-i offer, even if it's just an informal "ohh, I know someone there I'll give you their details" from your tutor. No one can guarentee you a job though!

It's about £1000 to do a 4 week CELTA course in most places. A 140 hour i-to-i course plus the Celta upgrade is a similar price.

but thats going to cost moer money!!!!

You can upgrade this course to CELTA. This course is good for people who can't afford to take 4 weeks out of their life to do a normal CELTA course. Overall it won't cost you any more money to do i-to-i & the CELTA upgrade than it would if you did a 4 week CELTA course.
